When a building’s architecture doesn’t allow for a full-size roof access door, a roof hatch provides safe, convenient access to the commercial building roof areas via an internal ladder or stairs.

Each of their roof hatches features a single wall curb with railing ready EZ tab counterflash and mounting flange, plus an extruded EPDM adhesive-backed acoustic gasket seal. Personnel Hatches
Babcock Davis offers three models of OSHA-compliant hatches designed for building personnel: The Personnel Roof Hatch, the Personnel ii Roof Hatch, and the Hurricane Hatch (Miami Dade approved with a reinforced latch and turn handle tested to 140psf wind uplift). Personnel hatches feature a formed metal cover with liner, stiffened to withstand a live load of 40psf. Available in red oxide or high reflectance white powder coat finish.
Thermally Broken Hatches
The most energy-efficient hatch on the market, the aluminum ThermalMAX Roof Hatch is IECC-compliant with enhanced insulation and a thermal break.
Day Lighting Hatches
The SunLit Roof hatch, designed to let in natural light, features a metal cover with 1/8 inch clear polycarbonate, UV coated dome.
Security Roof Hatches
Designed for higher-security buildings (e.g., banks, prisons), the Security Roof Hatch is built with heavy-duty materials and comes with optional security grade locks and optional viewport.
Equipment Hatches
Babcock-Davis’ equipment hatches are available in single-leaf or double-leaf designs with extra-large openings to accommodate large equipment access to the roof.
